Lawyers (Grades 9-12 only) develop case strategies and deliver an opening/closing statement to the court. Lawyers question witnesses on direct and cross examination while using legal objections to block or challenge improper testimony. This role is a for a highly committed student who is a critical thinker and prepared for both improvisation and memorization. Prospective lawyers are strongly encouraged to enroll in 8th period Mock Trial elective. Lawyers attend team practices on Mondays & Fridays 3:15-4:15pm.

Witnesses (Grades 9-12 only) play a key character in the trial and testify on the stand. Witnesses must learn the details of their statements and the basic facts of the case. This is a role for someone who enjoys the performing arts and can think on their feet. Prospective witnesses are strongly encouraged to enroll in 8th period Mock Trial elective. Prosecution team will meet Mondays 3:15-4:15pm and Defense team will meet Fridays 3:15-4:15pm starting on October 3rd.

Jurors (Grades 7 & up) observe the trial and listen carefully to testimony in order to reach an objective conclusion. A panel of six jurors will weigh the evidence presented during trial and collectively form a verdict on whether the defendant is guilty or not guilty. Jurors are not required to attend practices but are welcome to join us on Mondays & Fridays 3:15-4:15pm and must be available to attend a scrimmage in Nov/Dec 2025 and serve in 2+ trials in Jan/Feb 2026.
